Description
This course introduces students to Idaho POST approved and required topics regarding the human dimensions of the police profession, including ethics and professionalism. Students will gain a basic understanding of federal, state, and local laws and learn how to apply that knowledge as a police officer on patrol. The student will review all police laws related to the U.S. Constitution, Idaho Codes, rules of evidence, criminal law, arrest, and search and seizure. This knowledge will allow graduates of the program to determine traffic offenses, probable cause for arrest, and how to process criminal cases.
