Human Sciences

The Sociology program provides students with the tools necessary to analyze the structure and complexity of human societies and to gain a greater understanding of themselves and others as members of social groups. Instructors expose students to the methodological, theoretical, and conceptual foundations of the discipline to cultivate critical inquiry skills. Courses in the department invite students to explore contemporary social forces, uncover patterns in social phenomena, and examine important social issues using social scientific approaches.
