MUSC-118 Music Production: Editing and Sequencing

This course explores foundational principles in music production. Students will be introduced to software and hardware which facilitate editing and sequencing music. An exploration of musical composition using Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) will lead to individual and cooperative creations. Topics will include MIDI applications which are essential to creating and performing music in today's music industry.

MUSC-141 Harmony and Theory I

This course involves the study and application of the basic materials of music in four-part harmony. Emphasis is placed upon a thorough knowledge of the fundamentals of music and the development of composition and beginning analysis skills. It deals with harmonic practice from the year 1600 on. This course fulfills a theory requirement for music majors.
